Tesoro Blu - Kefalonia, Greece

After staying in a truly awful hotel last year I was determined to make up for it this year. Around February time I started holiday hunting, it took around three days, yes, THREE days, to narrow the search down to three hotels. The Tesoro came out tops due to it being in Greece (somewhere I've never been before) and the fact it only had 80 rooms -this of course means no early morning sun lounger run - I hate that! Of course, last years hotel looked quite fab in its photo-shopped images so I was still a little sceptical and did think we'd pull up outside and and I'd think 'oh jeeze' but alas, I was very chuffed to say the least and my three day hunt proved completely worth while.

I can't ever say I've had a week long holiday and not looked forward to arriving home usually craving some form on food, until now. Home was something I really didn't want to return to, a few more days would have been perfect.

Now Kefalonia itself doesn't have too much for you to do so you'd think a week in the same hotel would be too much, but nope. The rooms are lovely and modern, you each have your own balcony with a nice view, the selection at dinner, although not large, was enough and quite nice - they even catered for vegetarians. The chef would be out some evenings around the buffet making sure everything was ok, the temperature of the food was checked regularly and you never waited long for a drink, plus the presentation was perfect.

If Kefalonia had a bit more to do and see then I would not hesitate to return, luckily the family own a few hotels so I'm going to check them out!... I seriously cannot rate this hotel enough.

I would also like to mention the wonderful Lizetta who helped make our stay that bit more perfect!
